Since it's inception, CAI has consistently worked towards representing and supporting the members of Indian freight forwarding industry at the international level and helping in establishing uniform trade practice and regulations and eliminating trade evils and abuses.

Internationsl Transshipment Hub : April 25, 2007 was a day of revolution in the Indian Maritime History with the inaughration of LCL transshipment Hub at CWC CFS Dongri. This concept was pursued by CAI and a dream of global LCL consolidation hub in India translated into reality
CAI successfully played a key role in streamlining of operations at Container Freight Stations and de-congestion in the vicinity of Nhava Sheva port during the crises of congestion.
Major Impediments hampering the working of consolidators were taken up with the highest authorities and were resolved with co-operation of government bodies and trade associations.
CAI conducted a training programme on shipping imports and exports documentation for the benefit of its members.
LCL Import cargo movement was initiated ex-Nhava Sheva to Mumbai Old Port.
Standardisation was brought about in the ancillary charges.
Infrastructure development issues were addressed to facilitate smooth consolidation of cargoes.
